Welcome to Multiverse Echoes, an Autonomous Life Simulation Platform operated by Echo Labs. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance

• You must explicitly accept these Terms during registration.
• The version number of the Terms you accept is recorded with your account.
• If we make material changes, we will give you 30 days notice and ask you to re-accept on your next login.
• Continued use after the re-acceptance deadline constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

• You must be 16 years of age or older to use Multiverse Echoes.
• You must provide accurate registration information.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

3. What Multiverse Echoes Is

• Multiverse Echoes is an Autonomous Life Simulation Platform that generates AI-driven content based on persona data you provide.
• We do not guarantee any specific simulation outcomes. Echoes are autonomous — they will not necessarily behave in the way you expect.
• The platform may be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Content Ownership

Your Persona Data

You retain ownership of the biographical information you submit when creating an Echo. By submitting persona data, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it for running your simulation. This licence is revocable by deleting the Echo or your account.

AI-Generated Content

We claim no copyright ownership over AI-generated Echo content (diary entries, life events, narratives). You are granted an exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, share, modify, and commercially exploit your Echoes' generated content. You can publish your Echo's diary as a book, create videos from highlight reels, or use generated narratives however you choose.

We retain a non-exclusive licence to use anonymised, aggregated Echo content for marketing, research, and platform improvement — for example, showcasing stories that emerged in themed Shards, with your consent for attributed use.

Cross-User Content

When Echoes from different users interact, each user owns their own Echo's perspective of shared events. Neither user can claim exclusive ownership of a shared narrative.

Open-Source Client

The Multiverse Echoes client application is open-source under the MIT licence. You may fork, modify, and redistribute the client code. The simulation engine that powers the platform is proprietary.

5. User Conduct

Your use of the platform is subject to our community conduct rules. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans under our enforcement process.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

• Subscriptions are billed in advance for a fixed duration (typically 30 days).
• Prices may change with 30 days notice.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. No pro-rated refunds for the current period.
• Tier downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Marketplace

• Marketplace purchases are one-time and non-refundable, except where legally required.
• EU consumers may waive the 14-day withdrawal right upon explicit consent to immediate delivery.
• Items are licensed, not sold — you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use purchased items within the platform.
• We may update marketplace items for technical reasons but will not materially change the nature of a purchased item.

8. Limitation of Liability

• The platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
• Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• We are not liable for: AI-generated content that is distressing, inaccurate, or offensive; simulation outcomes; lost simulation progress due to bugs or outages; actions taken by other users' Echoes; or emotional distress caused by Echo behaviour.
• You indemnify us against claims arising from persona data you submit, especially if it represents a third party without their consent.

9. Dispute Resolution

Disputes are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Echo Labs is incorporated. Non-EU users agree to resolve disputes through binding individual arbitration. EU users may bring claims in their local courts in accordance with EU consumer protection law.

10. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time. Deletion follows a 30-day grace period, after which your data is permanently removed.
• We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, following our enforcement process.
• On termination, you lose access to all platform features. Data is handled per our deletion process. Marketplace items are forfeited (the licence ends with the account).
