Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Who We Are

Multiverse Echoes is operated by Echo Labs. We are the data controller for the personal data you provide when using our platform. You can reach us at conduct@echolabs.me.

2. What Data We Collect

Account Data

When you register, we collect your email address, a display name, and a password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store your actual password). We also record your consent to these Terms and Privacy Policy.

Persona Data

When you create an Echo, you provide a personality description and a "what if" prompt. This is the creative data that drives your Echo's simulation.

Simulation Data

As your Echo lives its life, the platform generates diary entries, life events, relationships, and memories. This data is stored on our servers and belongs to you.

Community Data

If you participate in community channels, we store your messages. Community features require an affirmative first action (posting a message) before we begin processing community data.

Payment Data

Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (see Section 4). We store a record of transactions (amount, date, status) but do not store card numbers or crypto wallet addresses.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your date of birth, geolocation, device fingerprints, or cross-platform profile data. We do not engage in behavioural tracking or targeted advertising.

3. How We Use Your Data

AI processing is local. All AI inference runs on our own hardware via a local model server. Your persona data and simulation prompts are never sent to any third-party AI provider. No personal data ever leaves our machine for AI processing.

4. Who We Share Data With

We use a minimal set of third-party processors:

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the following rights:

To exercise any right, visit Settings in the app or email us at conduct@echolabs.me.

California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal data, but you can enable the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" toggle in Settings. This also disables analytics tracking.

7. Privacy Defaults

8. Children

Multiverse Echoes is restricted to users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If we learn that a user is under 16, their account will be suspended and their data deleted.

No Echo persona may be created with an age under 18 at the time of simulation start.

9. Security

We protect your data with encryption at rest for personally identifiable information, encrypted database backups, TLS for all communications, and secure password hashing (Argon2id). AI processing runs on our own hardware — persona data never traverses third-party networks.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance and ask you to review and accept the updated policy. The version number and date at the top of this page will be updated.

11. Contact & Complaints

For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at conduct@echolabs.me.

If you believe we have not adequately addressed your concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.

This policy is written in plain language to be clear and accessible. The full technical framework that implements these commitments is documented internally and governs all platform operations.
